US Racing comes to the Red Bull Ring

Drexler Automotive Formula Cup

For the 2nd round of the Drexler Formula Cup at the Red Bull Ring (21-22 May), the US Racing team from the German ADAC Formula 4 Championship has entered its name on the entry list. The event, originally scheduled as the Leeb Circuit Trophy, will now be staged by Fischer Sportpromotion as the P9 Challenge Race Weekend. Vlad Lomko (Russia), Germany's Tim Tramnitz and British Formula 4 champion Luke Browning will compete for US Racing in the German ADAC Formula 4 in 2021. The team from Kerpen is based at Michael Schumacher Straße 5 and was founded by Gerhard Ungar and Ralf Schumacher. The participation in the Drexler Formula Cup will be a guest start for US Racing in order to be able to prepare optimally for the ADAC Formula 4 classification at the same venue (mid-June). With Vlad Lomko and Luke Browning, two drivers have been entered for the 2nd round of the Drexler Formula Cup. The US Racing Team is the successor to the 2015 champion's team.

In Germany, the ADAC Formula 4 is regarded as a great talent factory in formula racing. For example, the two US Racing drivers Lirim Zendeli (2018 champion) and Theo Pourchaire (2019 champion) made the jump to Formula 2, while David Schumacher, son of Ralf Schumacher, made his Formula debut with US Racing and became rookie champion straight away in 2018. A bridge can be built to 2015 for this upcoming guest start for US Racing. Six years ago, Mick Schumacher (van Amersfoort Racing) made his Formula 4 debut at the Red Bull Ring as a guest entrant in the REMUS Formula Cup. After a retirement in the first race, Mick Schumacher showed his talent in the second race on the Formula 1 circuit and finished tenth in Formula 4 in the middle of the Formula 3 and Formula Renault field. By the way, three more Formula 4 drivers followed the example of the current Formula 1 driver, who is under contract with the Haas F1Team in 2021. Mick's team-mate Harrison Newey even finished seventh at the Red Bull Ring in 2015. The two RS Competition drivers Benjamin Bailey and Glenn Rupp finished close behind.
