Young talent hot on the Red Bull Ring

Drexler-Automotive Formula Cup

When the Drexler-Automotive Formula Cup sets up its tents at the Leeb Rundstrecken Trophy from May 17th to 19th, it won't only be Formula 3 or Formula Renault that are going to be a big event in the formula field. For two young hot spurs, the first appearance on the Formula 1 circuit of the Red Bull Ring will be a reality. We are talking about Marius Morosan (Renauer Motorsport) and Stefan Fürtbauer (Franz Wöss Racing).

DSC 0750 Both come from karting and are now taking the next step with their entry into Formula 4. Marius Morosan was born in Romania and has been living in Austria with his parents for more than ten years. The 15-year-old has started his career in karting and made a detour to Formula Renault. For this season Morosan has a driver's seat in the Renauer Motorsport team. "After the test on the Pannoniaring Marius drove his first real car race at the Hungaroring", says Sepp Renauer. This season the student of the new secondary school in Pasching near Wels will see as an absolute formal year. "He is making good progress and is capable of learning. Of course, he still lacks racing experience. We are confident that he will go his way," adds Sepp Renauer. Stefan Fürtbauer can refer to more experience and some successes in karting. The 16-year-old from Wolfsegg will start his first Formula 4 season in 2019. Last year Fürtbauer won the overall classification of the Rotax Max Junior Kart Championship. "In 2019 he will concentrate on the FIA Zone Championship and will also compete in the Drexler-Automotive Formula Cup," says team boss Franz Wöss. This year's season will be all about gaining experience with the car on the race tracks and getting to know the set-up in Formula 4 even better. Both youngsters are looking forward to their guest appearance at the Red Bull Ring. "We want to give the young drivers a chance to develop with us at all times. The prerequisites for this are in place. The boys can learn a lot without being exposed to the great pressure to succeed in the first formula year. The conditions for entering formula racing are ideal for us," Franz Wöss continues.
