Start of the season from 10-12 July at the Salzburgring

Drexler-Automotive Formula Cup

Due to the Corona pandemic, the Drexler-Automotive Formula Cup has fixed a revised racing calendar for the 2020 season. Six races are planned for the time being, but the principle still applies that all dates require the approval of the local authorities. We start from 10th to 12th July on the Salzburgring. The race track at the gates of the city of Mozart marks the beginning, after the race on the Red Bull Ring was cancelled in mid-May. "The organizer presented a hygiene concept for the Salzburgring, which finally met with the approval of the authorities. For weeks they worked on it. Of course, the health of the drivers and teams, but also of all employees and helpers of the organizer is still our top priority", says coordinator Franz Wöss.

Just one week after the Salzburgring, the Drexler Formula Cup will meet in Mugello (17-19 July) as part of the TopJET F2000 Italian Formula Trophy. Italy in particular was severely affected by the Corona pandemic and needed a variety of safety and health concepts to give the green light for motor sports. The third stop in this year's racing calendar brings the Drexler Formula Cup back to Italy at the end of August (28-30 August). Then you are a guest on the former Formula 1 track in Imola. Just one week later we leave for the Czech Republic. From 04-06 September the formula series with Formula 3, Formula Renault and Formula 4 will be racing on the Masarykring in Brno. New in the calendar but currently still under reserve, the Hungaroring was added to the calendar for this year from 24-25 October. The finals in Monza, originally scheduled for mid-October, were scheduled for November 7-8. In the royal park the Drexler Formula Cup will close the season. "We are happy to present this calendar to our teams. You now have better planning security. As mentioned, all dates are provisional and we have to hope from event to event that the local authorities will not decide otherwise. There will be no compromises here. From our point of view, it is advantageous not to push all dates into autumn. I think the effort to push through the season in autumn or before the expected cold season would be difficult to calculate", Franz Wöss continues. The Drexler Formula Cup can present an attractive racing calendar when selecting the race tracks. Of course, everyone hopes that the season can start well at the Salzburgring and will experience a worthy finale in Monza.
