Drexler-Automotive Formula Cup - Mugello
At the ACI Racing Weekend in Mugello Sandro Zeller (Jo Zeller Racing) convinced in both races and repeated his double victory from last year. The 2nd round of the Drexler Formula Cup was characterised by exciting fights for positions on the 5.245 kilometre long track. After the Corona-conditioned lockdown in Italy, the pilots of the TOPJET F.2000 Italy Trophy were particularly aggressive. Although Sandro Zeller already underlined his position as favourite with the fastest time (1:43.712 min) in free practice and also in qualifying, the Swiss did not get off the ground as usual when starting the first race from pole position. Surprisingly, Bernardo Pellegrini (HAT Power) passed by and took the lead. This duel really picked up speed during the 16-lap chase and at the finish Pellegrini could be happy about the day's victory, while Zeller won the Drexler Formula Cup classification. Especially the overtaking manoeuvres while laping the slower cars were worth seeing.

Drexler-Automotive Formula Cup - Mugello (ITA)
One week after the season opener at the Salzburgring, the Drexler-Automotive Formula Cup comes to Mugello for its second round (July 17-19). Due to the English week, most of the teams have immediately started their journey from Austria to Italy. At the ACI Racing Weekend, the Drexler Formula Cup will race together with the Italian TOPJET F.2000 Italy Trophy. For the Italian circuit series the weekend also counts as a season opener in the corona time, which left its traces especially in Italy. The interest of the teams is accordingly large. "We expect a very large field of participants. So far 37 vehicles have registered," says coordinator Franz Wöss. The racing programme is peppered with some top-class Italian circuit series. With the Porsche Carrera Cup Italia, the Mini Challenge, the C.I.Gran Turismo Endurance and the TCR Italy Touring Car Championship, the organiser has a varied programme to offer. A total of 13 decisions are up for grabs on the 5.245 kilometre motorcycle circuit, which hosts MotoGP every year and will welcome Formula 1 for the first time in September 2020. Mugello has been known as Ferrari's Formula 1 test track for years.

Drexler- Automotive Formula Cup - Salzburgring (AUT)
The motorsport festival at the Salzburgring has delivered a promising start to the circuit season for the Drexler Formula Cup. Even though Saturday was quite rainy during the qualifying sessions in the Nesselgraben, the teams and drivers did not let this stop them from showing a strong performance. With Kurt Böhlen (Franz Wöss Racing) and Paolo Brajnik (PFM), two of the other favourites could not start. On Friday Kurt Böhlen suffered a major engine failure in Formula 3. Brajnik hit the crash barriers in Saturday's qualifying in the paddock corner and damaged his Formula 3. The pole position for the first race was surprisingly taken by Thomas Aregger (Franz Wöss Racing) ahead of title defender Sandro Zeller (Jo Zeller Racing), who played out his entire routine at the start on Sunday morning. Aregger dropped back to 13th place after a spin while Sandro Zeller took the lead. As a result, Thomas Amweg (Jo Zeller Racing), coming from 5th position, took second place. In the course of the 19 laps Aregger plowed through the field with overtaking manoeuvres worth seeing and caught Thomas Amweg two laps before the chequered flag fell.

Drexler-Automotive Formula Cup
Next weekend (11th - 12th July) the Drexler Formula Cup starts into the 2020 season and the Corona pandemic has put the whole motor sport to a great test in the last months. Now it finally starts at the motorsport festival. The anticipation among the teams and drivers is accordingly large. After the lockdown, the Salzburgring will start with a racing highlight not far from the festival city of Salzburg. The 4.255 kilometres long Salzburgring is one of the fastest race tracks in the calendar of the Drexler Formula Cup. 2016 was the last time that Formula 3, Formula Renault and Formula 4 raced between the Nockstein bend and the paddock curve. The winner at that time was Sandro Zeller (Jo Zeller Racing), who leads the field of participants in the Drexler Formula Cup in 2020 and wants to continue the successes of the previous year.
